We exchanged quite a few emails as I had a lot of questions. In the end we booked a one day tour of Athens, followed by a modified Five Day Tour, staying in Nafplion, Olympia, Delphi, and Kalambaka. Nikos was very easy to work with. He responded to emails almost immediately. With the seven hour time difference, I don’t know when the man sleeps. The One Day Athens Tour - It was very well organized so we covered all the sites we wanted to see in a very efficient manner. George picked us up at our hotel in a spotless black Mercedes sedan and we drove to the upper entry point for the Acropolis. We had purchased the combined ticket the day before so we could just walk in. We did not book a guide because we felt we would get a good overview of the site from our guidebook. We hardly looked at our book because George gave us such a great overview using pictures on his tablet. When we were done at the site, we called George on the cell phone he gave us, and he was waiting for us when we completed the short walk down the hill. The rest of the day was just as easy. George would park, give us an overview with his tablet, drop us off very close to the entrance, and pick us up when we were finished. Very easy! The Five Day Peloponnese Tour – It was everything we hoped for and more. The itinerary was well organized and we never felt like were trying to do too much. George was an excellent driver. We never felt uncomfortable or nervous in his vehicle. George followed the same procedure as he did for the one day tour. He drove us to the site, gave us an overview, and turned us loose to explore. The only difference here was we had arranged for private guides in Corinth, Mycenae, and Epidaurus the first day, in Olympia the third day, in Delphi the fourth day, and in Meteora the fifth. All the guides Nikos booked for us were extremely knowledgeable, professional, and in some cases, entertaining. George was great for background but having a guide with us on site was well worth the extra money. Nikos booked four hotels for us, and all were comfortable, clean, with friendly and efficient staff; and all were reasonably priced. The best part of the tour for us was meeting George. He is such an interesting, intelligent, courteous young man. We learned so much from him! We talked about Greek food, menus, culture, history, mythology, and politics. We also learned about his family and friends, and his life. At the end of the six days, when he dropped us at the dock to take the overnight ferry to Crete, we felt like we were leaving an old friend.

Our journey included visits to Corinth and Nafplion, with overnight stays in Olympia, Delphi and Meteora. The vehicle was a spacious Mercedes van — probably the most comfortable vehicle we’ve taken on any private tour. The hotel accommodations were comfortable for 3 adults and the prices were quite reasonable. Our driver, Lambros, was extremely professional, friendly, flexible and knowledgeable. In addition to our main itinerary, he included specific stops such as a wonderful winery and several great places to eat. All of his recommendations were very good and based on his personal experience. It was a pleasure to have him with us throughout our tour. His expert guidance and easy going attitude enabled us to relax and really enjoy all four days.

We had 4 people in a very comfortable new Mercedes Vito Tourer - masses of room, great seating and all seats could see the views. We started our tour with the Acropolis - thankfully early - as when we were leaving it was starting to become very crowded. Then a beautiful drive to cape Sounion to see the Temple of Poseidon - mind blowingly stunning!!. Stopped at a fabulous seafood restaurant on the way back for fresh grilled fish, calamari and octopus. (Select your own fish)

We believe George may be the best tour guide that we have ever had, and we’ve taken many tours all over the world! He certainly rates five stars out of five with us. We had a very enjoyable day and we learned a lot from him. Private Greece Tours also did an excellent job of handling our transfers from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the cruise terminal. Everything went perfectly!
